โลกธรรมฝ่าย อิฏฐารมณ์ คือฝ่ายน่าพอใจของมนุษย์ เป็นที่รักเป็นที่ปรารถนา
1. มีลาภ เสื่อมลาภ
หมายความว่า ได้ผลประโยชน์ ได้มาซึ่งโภคทรัพย์
เแล้วมีเหตุให้เสียลาภไป ไม่อาจเอาดำรงไว้อยู่ได้
2. มียศ เสื่อมยศ
หมายความว่า ได้รับฐานันดรสูงศักดิ์ขึ้น ได้อำนาจเป็นใหญ่เป็นโต แล้วถูกลดอำนาจความเป็นใหญ่ลงมา หรือไล่ออก
3. มีสรรเสริญ มีนินทา
คือ ได้ยิน ได้ฟัง คำสรรเสริญคำชมเชย คำยกย่อง เป็นที่น่าพอใจ แล้วต่อมาถูกตำหนิติเตียนว่าไม่ดี ถูกติฉินนินทา หรือถูกกล่าวร้ายให้เสียหาย
4. มีสุข มีทุกข์ คือ ได้ความสบายกาย สบายใจ ความเบิกบาน บันเทิงใจร่าเริงใจ แล้วต่อมาได้รับทุกขเวทนา คือเศร้าใจทุกข์ใจ และทรมานกาย
#เมื่อเข้าใจว่าชีวิตมนุษย์โดยรวมแล้วตกอยู่กับภาวะเช่นนี้ ก็เป็นอันว่าเข้าใจอริยะสัจข้อที่๑ อันได้แก่ ทุกขอริยสัจ แปลว่าความจริงอันเป็นสัจธรรมคือความทุกข์
และถ้าศึกษาเพิ่มเติมไปว่า "ที่ทุกข์ใจนี่มันเพราะอะไร" เพราะการดิ้นรนทะยานอยากให้สมปราถนามากเกินไป ไม่อยากแบบพอดี แต่มีความอยากมาก จึงกลายเป็นตัณหา
